Dr. Vivien TAM
Vivien was born in Hong Kong but spent most of her time overseas trying to pursue her childhood dream of becoming a veterinarian. After graduating from a boarding school in Canada she decided to take a gap year and backpacked to Eastern Europe working with local vets at an animal shelter in Brasov Romania. The satisfaction of helping animals in need was the main drive for her to choose a career in veterinary medicine.
In 2011, Vivien obtained her veterinary degree from the University of Melbourne with first class honors and passed her North American Licensing Examination (NAVLE) through the Canadian National Examining Board.
As a veterinary student, Vivien had a wide range of work experiences including large animal practices in rural Melbourne spending months with dairy cattle, exotics animals like the diamond pythons, and right after her final year exam she also spent some time working at a multi-disciplinary veterinary specialist hospital in Melbourne.
Her field of interests includes small animal internal medicine, ophthalmology, clinical pathology and more. She is currently enrolled in a small animal practice post-graduate course working towards a master degree offered by the University of Murdoch.
Vivien is very excited about joining PAVC this year and honored to have the opportunity to work with such a professional team.
