Dr. Max K.T. Chan
Dr. Max Chan was born and raised in Hong Kong until the age of 14, he then completed his secondary education at a boarding school on the south coast of England. His passion for working with animals led him to pursue a degree in Zoology at Imperial College London, but it wasn’t until an unintentional opportunity working as a part-time veterinary assistant, that he discovered his interest in veterinary medicine. In 2015, Max graduated from the Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies in Edinburgh.
During his undergraduate veterinary study, Max shadowed several veterinarians who had a special interest in cardiology. This early exposure to the subject seeded a particular bias in his mind. To further consolidate his knowledge, Max spent additional time working with a cardiology specialist at the University of Edinburgh.
Max is very excited to join PAVC as a cardiology intern commencing in September 2015.
Being a travel enthusiast, Max has taken every opportunity to explore the world, from doing a biodiversity survey on Malaysian civets in the Indonesian wilderness, to desexing stray cats in Cyprus, and a lot in between!
