Dr. Karen W.L. Ng
Dr. Karen Ng studied veterinary medicine with a scholarship and graduated from the University of Queensland in 2000. She worked with exotics in the Singapore Zoo for two and a half years before deciding to focus on small animal medicine. She then practiced in a large 24-hour small animal hospital in Singapore where her interest in emergency work was established. Dr. Ng undertook a residency in Emergency and Critical Care with the University of Melbourne’s Veterinary Clinic and Hospital. During this time, she obtained her membership with the Australian College of Veterinary Scientists in Small Animal Surgery and since completion of her residency, has also obtained her membership in Emergency and Critical Care. Karen is enthusiastic about being a part of PAVC, a cutting edge hospital providing quality services and care. Karen’s special interests are emergency surgery, traumatology and analgesia. She has also completed a post-graduate course in feline (cat) medicine in 2009.
Karen has kept a wide range of animals as pets but only her cat Mo accompanied her to Hong Kong. She was adopted as a stray from the University Veterinary Hospital in Melbourne.
Outside of work, she enjoys horse riding, reading, cooking and traveling. She enjoys living in vibrant Hong Kong, hiking and brushing up her Cantonese.
